About Us
Blue Insurances was established in October 2003 by Joint Managing Directors Ciaran Mulligan and
Rowan Devereux, initially focusing on the travel insurance market through the Travel Trade. Within a
year Blue Insurances became the leading supplier of travel insurance through the Travel Trade in
Ireland.
In March 2005, we opened our UK office in London and commence operations with the UK and
Northern Ireland Travel trade picking up significant business after a short period. David Moore joined
the company in 2005 as our IT Director managing a number of technology staff. Blue Insurances
technology and websites are all developed in house by our own IT development team.
In 2006 Blue Insurances developed a new distribution arm through Insurance Intermediaries in Ireland.
A significant number of insurance intermediaries began selling Travel Insurance either directly in their
company, on their website with our online white label booking site or through the Blue Insurances call
centre.
A year later, Blue Insurances started developing other Insurance Products such as Wedding
Insurance, Motor Breakdown Cover and Car Hire Excess Insurance. Blue Insurances also started
selling directly to the consumer through our direct websites such as www.blueinsurance.ie,
www.multitrip.com, www.weddinginsurance.ie, www.covermywedding.co.uk, www.breakdowncover.ie,
www.covermybreakdown.co.uk and www.carhireexcess.com.
Blue Insurances will be launching Pet Insurance and Marine Insurance. Blue Insurances vision is to
lead the Insurance Industry with a comprehensive product, quality customer service, competitive rates
and the latest technology, enabling all our Insurance Intermediaries to have the easiest and
quickest solution when booking Blue Insurance Products.
Our new Call Centre facility will allow us to offer more facilities and greater flexibility to
Insurance Intermediaries including longer opening hours. Our new insurance products coming in late
2008 and early 2009 will include Home and Motor Insurance. Blue Insurances also arranges
Insurance Bonding, Travel Agents/Tour Operators Office, Liability and Professional Indemnity
insurance at very competitive prices.
Blue Insurances Ltd is now the leading supplier of Travel Insurance, Wedding Insurance and Car
Hire Excess in Ireland. We have been voted Best Travel Insurance Product for the past three years by
the Irish Travel Trade.
Blue Insurances Ltd has now moved to new owned headquarters at Plaza 212, Blanchardstown
Corporate Park, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 and our new UK office is situated at Suffolk House,
Trade Street, Cardiff CF10 5DT.
